The Unabomber" was Ted Kaczynski & he was a victim of the MK Ultra brutalizing psychological experiments programming/torture method of the CIA. Many of the authors claims are just claims with not a lot or very basic evidence, if he had spoken to professionals it may have given his claims more weight. I did think that it was interesting to compare killers to try and understand why they did what they did, he immediately ruined this by waffling on after the point about information that does not matter. Her alcoholic dad didn't spend time with her, or make it obvious that he loved & cared about her, so as a adult she is needy, emotionally dependant on other people.

Netflix series “Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” is just the latest in a libidinous true crime canon that emphasizes spectacle and gore, while undermining or even diminishing the lived experiences of Dahmer’s victims.”
Het boek leest snel weg, mede vanwege de simpele schrijfstijl (love it), je moet soms even stilstaan bij waar je over leest. De moorden en feiten staan ff onder elkaar in de appendix, dat is een duidelijke afsluiting. Americans have been obsessed with murderers since the days of public executions in Puritan times, but we started consuming crime as pop culture in the early 1800s when the penny press realized that murder sells newspapers," says Adam Golub, professor of American studies at California State University, Fullerton and co-editor of " Monsters in the Classroom: Essays on Teaching What Scares Us." The book has a essay type of flow, constantly asking “is it enough?” Can we find the “waypoint” that turned him from a boy who’s emotional needs were neglected to a serial killer?
Inside the Mind of Jeffrey Dahmer by Christopher Berry-Dee
Potentially the title is misleading, I didn’t feel like we truly got into the mind of Jeffrey Dahmer. Admittedly I have never read this kind of book before so I did not really know what to expect and (currently) have no other true crime book to compare it to.I found this book incredibly hard work, in the prologue we have 4 Bible quotes, and a dig at a liberal/left leaning society. This is a running theme where he repeatedly says 'liberals may disagree' etc... To the owner of this blog. I am fascinated by the brain. My father is both a psychiatrist and a neurologist and his work always fascinated me. Most interestingly, the researchers did not find differences in the brains of ALL violent criminals. They only found differences in those who committed homicides. So the brain of a murderer looks very different from that of a mugger.
